" ..eatand drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allâh) likes not Al-Musrifûn (those who waste by extravagance)." (Al-A'raf 7:31)
The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) has also advised moderation in food and drink: "There is no worse vessel for the son of Aadam to fill than his stomach, but if he must fill it, then let him allow one-third for food, one-third for drink, and one-third for air. " [Sahih hasan hadith narrated by Ahmad, 4/132, and Tirmidhi, 4/18, in Kitaab al-Zuhd, baab ma ja'a fi karahiyyah kathirat al-akl]
'Umar (radhiallaahu 'anhu) said: "Beware of filling your stomachs with food and drink, for it is harmful for the body and causes sickness and laziness in performing prayers. Be moderate in both food and drink, for that is healthier for your bodies and furthest removed from extravagance. Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'ala) will hate the fat man (one who revels in a life of luxury), and a man will not be condemned until he favours his desires over his religion." [Kanz al-ammaal, 15/433.]

There is no one way to lose weight. The principle is the same - you need to burn more calories than you take in. In this page you will find both free and commercial products/programs that are available online to help you with your weightloss.
Sometimes "tools" bring that needed extra motivation to keep you going with your weight loss! Read carefully the program details before ordering anything. The links here are just given as suggestions, not as advice. Many times the best motivator can be a weight loss buddy - there used to be a weightloss support group for Muslimahs but that one disappeared. InshaAllaah we will keep our eyes open to find something similar or we can start a support group at the Members Only section of MuslimahConnection.

You are beautiful maashaAllaah!
When was the last time you looked in the mirror and smiled: 'alhamdulillah'? Chances are, your last encounter with a full-length mirror was conducted with a worried frown on your face as you ran down a long, humiliating list of your figure's faults and flaws.
